Day 3 - Tokyo

We slept in a bit this morn and headed out at 9.30. We walked from Shinjuku to the Meji Shrine, it wasn't as spectacular as yesterday's shrine but it was still beautiful. The boys whinged about all the walking but yet they always seem to have enough energy to run up all the escalators in the train stations! That is until Charlie trips up and cuts his shin, ah the joys of traveling with children 😉
We then continued walking to Harajuku where we went to the Kawaii Monster Cafe. It was a crazy themed restaurant pumping out loud music and colourful food. If course it was overpriced but the kids just loved it 😊 After that we went to Kiddyland which is a 4 story toy store. We got out of it pretty cheaply by giving the boys 100 yen each to play one of those claw machines. They both one some little japanese critter so they were stoked with that.
By mid afternoon we were tired and our feet hurt so we trained it to Goyen Park in Shinjuku where we just relaxed for a bit. There are a lot of rules in Japanese parks including no kicking of balls, Steve could never live here 😉
We then trained it to the Tokyo Government Building and went up to the 45th floor for a free view of the city. It was cloudy today so not so spectacular and certainly no view of Mt Fuji. We then trained it back to the hotel for a 1hr rest before heading out again.
Tonight we went to the Robot Show which was just amazingly crazy! It was so loud and colourful and weirdly wonderful. It is hard to explain, just so many robots and colourful costumes and sound and lights. The photos don't do it justice.
For dinner we found this quirkly little place that  served interesting food, pretty good but also a bit weird 🤔
