We were up and at it by 7.45 this morn. We took the cable car down to Odawara and then the bullet train to Kyoto. We arrived and checked our bags into the Tabiya Hotel. We then trained it to the Fushimi Inari Taisha and did the walk to the top of the mountain. It was a stunning walk through hundreds of red torri gates. The boys complained at times (it was a very hot and humid 5km walk up a mountain!) but they would soon forget and then run/jump the stairs much to all the exhausted adults amaze 😃 At the bottom we walked through a street full of food vendors and souvenir shops. We ate dumplings, steak sticks, potato sticks and crepes. We then trained it back to Kyoto centre and walked though a narrow but what seemed never ending alley full of fish market, restaurants and little shops. We finally checked in at 7.30 and our hotel is the smallest we have ever seen 😂 But the boys love it and we fit in ok so all good.
